Fashion Meets Flight: AirAsia’s Uniform Redesign Lands at KLFW

AirAsia made a striking impression at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2025 by unveiling an enhanced cabin crew uniform crafted with sustainability and function in mind. Incorporating up to 40 per cent recycled materials, the new uniform blends comfort, practicality, and regional flair.

This thoughtful update ensures the uniforms remain lightweight and low-maintenance, empowering cabin crew to carry out their duties with both ease and confidence.

For select long-haul routes such as Jeddah and Medina, AirAsia X also introduced a modest uniform variant, tailored to meet cultural expectations without compromising on comfort or practicality.

Adding a further touch of distinction, a redesigned handbag conceptualised by a Malaysian designer was unveiled as part of the ensemble, infusing a sense of homegrown creativity and regional flair.

Suhaila Hassan, AirAsia Group Head of Cabin Crew, highlighted the deeper message behind the transformation: “This is not just a change in fabric, it is a change in mindset. Our cabin crew spend most of their time in uniform, and it matters to us that what they wear is not only functional but also reflects the values we stand for.”

She added, “We have always said our people are the heart of the airline. These uniforms are designed with them in mind – comfortable, breathable, and easy to move in. At the same time, they represent something bigger: our growing commitment to doing business responsibly and uplifting the communities we come from.”

The event also celebrated a decade of collaboration between AirAsia and KLFW—a partnership that underscores the airline’s support for ASEAN creativity and innovation. The high-energy show opened with Malaysian pop group DOLLA, ambassadors of AirAsia’s ASEAN campaign, and highlighted the cultural diversity and spirit of AirAsia’s multinational crew.

By participating in the Design to Sustain segment and standing shoulder to shoulder with local designers, AirAsia affirmed its role as not just an airline, but a vibrant platform for creativity, culture, and regional collaboration.
