MOH Offers 4,352 Contract Doctors Permanent Posts

The Health Ministry (MOH) will issue permanent appointment letters to 4,352 contract medical officers by Aug 18, a major step in strengthening the country’s healthcare workforce.

MOH highlighted that successful candidates will report for duty at MOH facilities nationwide in phases starting Oct 2. The phased rollout, involving officers from several contract cohorts, aims to maintain seniority and safeguard welfare.

“This approach ensures a fair and organised transition into permanent service,” the ministry said, adding that coordination with the Finance Ministry, Public Services Commission and Public Service Department is underway to facilitate the appointments.

The move aligns with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement on July 23, which called for the swift filling of key healthcare vacancies amid rising service demands.

MOH reiterated its commitment to managing the process smoothly and strategically to ensure critical roles are filled efficiently based on national healthcare needs.
