Hyatt Regency Returns to Kuala Lumpur with KL Midtown Opening

Hyatt Regency has officially returned to Kuala Lumpur with the grand opening of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown on August 26, 2025. Positioned as the city’s ultimate destination for conventions and leisure, the debut marks a significant milestone for the capital’s hospitality landscape.

The project is a partnership between Hap Seng Land and Naza TTDI, with its opening marked by a ceremony attended by leaders in business, architecture and diplomacy.

Located in Dutamas-Mont Kiara, the hotel offers easy access to the city centre, cultural landmarks, and a shopping hub. It is also a short walk from the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), making it ideal for both business and events.

The design is a signature statement by Kengo Kuma, internationally acclaimed for his philosophy of lightness, transparency, and sustainability.

Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur showcases Kengo Kuma’s signature design philosophy, incorporating natural elements such as wood, stone and paper throughout its interiors. The result is a calm yet refined setting that fuses Japanese heritage with contemporary elegance.

The hotel offers 410 accommodations, comprising 306 guestrooms and suites. In addition to suites and rooms, there are 104 fully serviced residences. Options range from King and Twin Rooms to Regency Club Rooms, Diplomatic Suites and the Presidential Suite, catering to both short stays and extended visits.

Those staying in Regency Club rooms gain access to the Regency Club Lounge, a dedicated space for relaxation and productivity, offering breakfast, afternoon refreshments, and evening cocktails. For extended stays, the serviced residences offer one and two-bedroom apartments, each featuring a kitchenette, separate living and dining areas, and a private entrance for added convenience.

Culinary excellence is at the heart of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur, with four distinct dining venues led by Executive Chef Jonas Juchli and a world-class culinary team.

Midtown Brasserie offers all-day dining with a focus on refined comfort dishes. Meanwhile, the sunlit Midtown Lounge serves afternoon tea alongside artisanal patisserie. China House highlights northern Chinese flavours, with its signature rambutan wood-fired Peking Duck taking centre stage.

ENSŌ Izakaya & Bar elevates Japanese dining with authentic Edomae-style sushi and one of Kuala Lumpur’s most extensive sake collections. By evening, it becomes a vibrant social spot, with DJs, creative cocktails and an energetic atmosphere.

For business events, the hotel provides 16 versatile function rooms across three floors, including a pillarless ballroom designed with natural light and open layouts. The zen-inspired Courtyard offers a calm outdoor setting for networking, while event concierge services and in-house AV specialists support seamless execution.

Recreational facilities are equally well considered. Guests can unwind at the infinity pool surrounded by greenery, with poolside dining available at the Breeze Pool Bar. Residents have access to a private infinity pool on the 32nd floor, offering sweeping views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

Families benefit from a dedicated Kidz Club, while fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the 24-hour Core Fitness Centre, complete with optional personal training.

To celebrate its launch, World of Hyatt members can earn 500 Bonus Points per qualifying night for stays completed between August 26 and November 30, 2025. This offer, part of the group’s new hotel bonus programme, requires no registration and can be combined with other promotions.
