The Malaysia Pavilion at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) recorded total sales of RM376.14 million, according to the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
The pavilion featured 70 exhibitors, including eight ministries and agencies, showcasing Malaysia’s diverse offerings across sectors such as education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, construction materials, technology, and artificial intelligence. Signature products, including durian, white coffee, biscuits, and bird’s nest, also saw strong demand from importers.
MATRADE chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said the sales achievement reaffirms the competitiveness of Malaysia’s products and services. “MATRADE’s participation in this prominent event reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting Malaysian companies in strengthening their foothold in Malaysia’s largest trading partner. This is especially in the growing second and third-tier cities such as Nanning, despite the ongoing challenges in global trade,” he said.
The pavilion was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. Over 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs), memoranda of agreement (MoAs), joint ventures, and Letters of Intent were exchanged during the exhibition, many stemming from MATRADE’s business-to-business initiatives.
Malaysia received multiple recognitions at the event, including Special Supporter for Artificial Intelligence Cooperation, Best Organiser of Trade Visitors, and Best Organiser of Business Promotional Matching Activities. Three Malaysian brands were also awarded: The Smarter Solution Edge Sdn Bhd (Golden Award for Voice for Health – Recording Kit), Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (Silver Award for Red Palm Oil), and Global Premium Resources Sdn Bhd (Best Popularity Award for Cookies and Chocolate).
Held from Sept 17 to 21 in Nanning, the 22nd CAEXPO continues to serve as a strategic platform for Malaysian exporters to expand in China. MATRADE encouraged Malaysian companies aiming to enter or strengthen their presence in the Chinese market to participate in the next edition in September 2026.
