NexG Berhad announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd has received and accepted a 6-year contract from the Registration Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs for the supply of Malaysia’s National Identity Card solutions including MyKad, MyTentera and MyPOCA. The contract, which will commence on 1 June 2026, carries a total value of approximately RM733 million.
This award follows the RM1.73 billion Malaysia International Passport supply contract secured on 29 August 2025.
NexG, through its subsidiary, has been the provider of MyKad solutions since 1999, and this new contract reflects the Government’s ongoing trust in the Group to safeguard and modernise the nation’s identity infrastructure.
Under this contract, the Government will introduce a next-generation upgraded MyKadto strengthen identity security and accelerate Malaysia’s digital transformation. The upgraded MyKad is said to be more durable and has multi-layered security features. It is designed to resist forgery, protect against tampering, and ensure long-term reliability.
