NTT DATA, a global provider of digital business and technology services, has partnered with Fortanix Inc, a leader in data security for AI environments, to launch a global Cryptography-as-a-Service offering. The service aims to help enterprises protect sensitive data, counter emerging AI threats and prepare for post-quantum cryptography challenges.
The joint solution combines Fortanix’s Data Security Manager Platform with NTT DATA’s cybersecurity expertise, global delivery capabilities and AI technology experience. It is designed to secure data across AI, cloud and hybrid environments while enabling crypto-agility, the ability to replace vulnerable encryption with quantum-safe alternatives.
Fortanix’s platform uses Confidential Computing technology to isolate and encrypt data during processing, ensuring protection at rest, in motion and in use. Centralised visibility and policy control simplify audits, compliance and regulatory reporting, providing enterprises with a foundation to transition to quantum-resistant cryptography.
NTT DATA will deliver full lifecycle services, including assessments of data security maturity, technology roadmaps for crypto-agility, implementation of the Fortanix platform and ongoing managed services.

Key use cases for the service include multicloud key management across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and on-premises environments, post-quantum readiness assessments and migration planning, secure AI and machine learning workflows, data sovereignty compliance for government and public sectors, hardware security module-as-a-service and data tokenisation with format-preserving encryption.
The partnership will focus primarily on highly regulated sectors worldwide, including financial services, healthcare, government and telecommunications.
