Amanah Raya Bhd has revealed that only around 5% of Malaysians currently have wills, underscoring the urgent need to raise public awareness on estate management and inheritance planning.
The statistic was shared during the AmanahRaya Grand Seminar 2025, themed ‘Pemegang Amanah Pilihan Anda’, which gathered over 500 participants both physically and online via Zoom. The hybrid event, following the success of last year’s AmanahRaya Online Conference 2024, focused on key topics such as estate administration and will writing.
Group Chief Sustainability Officer Lokman Ab Latif said, “We have received support and participation from various sectors including government agencies, private institutions, financial experts and the public, who believe this seminar serves as an effective platform to discuss current challenges in estate management and to devise practical, inclusive solutions for the well-being of society.”
He added that the seminar serves as a platform for industry players to collaborate on strategies to boost inheritance literacy nationwide.
The event also strengthened AmanahRaya’s strategic collaboration with its partners, including Pusat Pungutan Zakat – Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP) as sponsor, to promote a more holistic and integrated approach to inheritance planning in Malaysia.
