Malaysia has expressed its heartfelt sympathy to the Indonesian government and its people following the recent disaster in Aceh and North Sumatra, reaffirming solidarity with those affected.
Prime Minister’s Office said Malaysia will provide an initial contribution of RM500 per student to Indonesian students currently studying in Malaysia who have been impacted by the calamity.
“As a gesture of goodwill and friendship between our neighbouring countries, Malaysia stands with our Indonesian brothers and sisters during this difficult time,” the statement said.
Indonesian students affected by the disaster are advised to register with their respective institutions to ensure that assistance is coordinated and distributed according to their needs.
