Sunway Square Mall Opens

Sunway Square Mall officially opened today, introducing a four-level, 320,000 sqft community-centric retail hub designed to anchor the wider Sunway Square development within Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

The mall, which launched with 95% of tenants operational, forms part of a broader integrated project combining retail, education, arts and public spaces.

According to Sunway Malls chief executive officer HC Chan, “The mall is part of Sunway Square, a visionary development designed to integrate multifaceted range of spaces, catering to the arts, commerce, education and business.”

Housing more than 130 outlets, the mall includes Village Grocer, Tutu Toe Dance Academy, BUMP Bouldering, KKV and a 24-hour Library by BookXcess featuring Kenny Hills Bakers.

It also incorporates creative interior elements inspired by the upcoming Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre, alongside sculptures by resident artist Infantino Fernandes.

The development links directly to the pet-friendly Sunway South Quay Lake and Park via multiple bubble lifts, offering visitors access to outdoor leisure areas, including a designated pet playground.

Sunway Square Mall sits within the wider Sunway Square integrated development that includes the new Sunway University campus, comprising the Sunway Business School and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Its location within the 15-minute city framework of Sunway City Kuala Lumpur provides pedestrian and transit access via the Canopy Walk and the Bus Rapid Transit system.

The mall’s opening will be followed by a series of community events throughout December and early January, including festive markets and a lakeside New Year’s Eve celebration.
