Azerbaijan Names Khazar Farhadov New Ambassador To Malaysia

Azerbaijan has appointed its ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, as its new ambassador to Malaysia, succeeding Irfan Davudov, who has been reassigned to Pakistan.

Farhadov confirmed his new posting in a post on X on Friday, thanking President Ilham Aliyev for appointing him as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Malaysia. He also pledged to further strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The appointment comes as Farhadov concludes his tenure in Pakistan. On Friday, he paid a farewell call on Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari at the presidential palace in Islamabad.

According to a statement from the Pakistan government, Zardari commended Farhadov’s role in Aliyev’s state visit to Pakistan in July 2024, which marked a new chapter in bilateral relations.
