The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning for several states, with very heavy rainfall expected in parts of Pahang through Thursday, Dec 18.
Under the danger-level alert, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin are forecast to experience very heavy continuous rain, raising the risk of flooding and landslides.
A severe warning has also been issued for Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu, Jerantut, Maran and Bera in Pahang, as well as Segamat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor, where heavy rain is expected to persist.
Meanwhile, an alert-level warning covers Kelantan, large parts of Terengganu and Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and several districts in Johor, including Johor Bahru.
MetMalaysia advised the public to remain vigilant, heed official warnings and take necessary precautions, particularly in flood-prone areas.
