PLUS Malaysia Bhd expects traffic on its highways to reach up to 2.2 million vehicles a day between Dec 19 and 27, driven by the year-end school holidays and Christmas travel rush.
In a statement, PLUS said similarly heavy traffic is anticipated on Jan 2 2026, with Smart Lane operations to be activated at 30 congestion hotspots to help ease traffic flow during the festive period.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys early and use the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule via the PLUS mobile app, which is now available not only during festive seasons but also on selected peak days.
PLUS said road users can also access real-time traffic updates through its virtual assistant Maya-PUTRI, X accounts @plustrafik and @lpt2trafik, electronic message signboards (VMS) at selected locations, or via major radio stations.
