Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa is sharpening its focus as it strengthens its leadership team in preparation for 2026. Rather than reinventing itself, the island resort is refining what already works, with an emphasis on consistency, operational strength and guest experience.
The new appointments bring together senior expertise across hospitality operations, food and beverage, sales and finance.
Several roles now span both Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa and Fairfield by Marriott Kuala Besut, encouraging closer collaboration between the two neighbouring properties. The shared structure improves efficiency while allowing each hotel to keep its own identity.
Leading day-to-day operations is Resort Manager Kirinjit Singh, who brings more than 25 years of experience across luxury hotels and island resorts. His background includes pre-openings, refurbishments and managing high-profile guests. Known for a steady, people-first approach, he is focused on maintaining service standards and operational readiness.
Food and beverage is a key area of momentum. Chef Mohamad Mahady joins as Multi-Property Executive Chef, bringing a hands-on style shaped by more than two decades in international hotels, resorts and cruise lines.
Overseeing food and beverage is Ewald Gonsalves, appointed Multi-Property Director of Food & Beverage.
His background spans major pre-openings and high-volume operations at properties including Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur and JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. The result is a sharper, more cohesive F&B strategy across both hotels, with efficiency and talent development at the forefront.
On the commercial front, Florence Tan takes on the role of Multi-Property Director of Sales & Marketing. With over 20 years in hospitality sales and marketing, she will lead brand positioning, partnerships and performance-driven campaigns designed to strengthen market presence and bookings.
Financial leadership is handled by Nasrisya Hani, appointed Multi-Property Director of Finance following her progression within Marriott International. With experience in reporting, compliance and owner-level engagement, she brings a disciplined approach to financial planning and long-term sustainability.
Together, the leadership team brings clarity and momentum as the resort looks ahead. The focus is firmly on refinement — delivering consistent service, confident operations and an experience that keeps pace with evolving guest expectations.
