Selangor is set to experience heavy thunderstorms, intense rain and strong winds today, with severe weather conditions expected to persist until 12 noon on Friday, Jan 2.
Affected districts include Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The adverse weather is also forecast to hit Pahang (Bentong) , Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as parts of Negeri Sembilan(Jelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson).
The department said the warning is issued when thunderstorms are expected to bring rainfall exceeding 20 millimetres per hour, either imminently or lasting for more than an hour.
The public is advised to remain cautious, limit outdoor activities and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
