Packed Schedule For PM On Second Day Of Türkiye Visit

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has a full slate of engagements on the second day of his official visit to Türkiye, highlighted by a meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.

He began the day with a courtesy call from Türkiye’s Defence Industry Secretary Prof Dr Haluk Görgün before delivering a public lecture titled “Power Shift: Strategic Choices for Malaysia and Türkiye” to professionals, academics, senior officials and students.

Anwar will then receive an official welcome and hold a four-eye meeting with Erdoğan, followed by both leaders co-chairing the First Malaysia–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Council (HLSC) Meeting and a joint press conference.

The prime minister will also be conferred Türkiye’s highest state award, the Order of the Republic, in recognition of his role in strengthening bilateral ties, before the day concludes with an official dinner hosted by Erdoğan.

The visit aims to deepen long-standing Malaysia–Türkiye relations, with bilateral trade reaching RM21.2 billion from January to November 2025 and Türkiye ranking among Malaysia’s key West Asian trading partners in 2024.
