Hyundai Recalls 84,000 US Vehicles Over Dashboard Glitch

Hyundai Motor Co is recalling 83,877 vehicles in the US after a potential dashboard malfunction that may prevent the instrument panel from displaying critical safety information, including the speedometer and fuel gauge, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported on Jan 23.

Reuters reported that the affected vehicles, equipped with audio-video navigation systems, will receive a software update over-the-air where possible. Alternatively, owners can have the system inspected and updated for free at authorised Hyundai dealers, NHTSA added.

Hyundai stressed that the recall ensures drivers regain full access to vital information for safe operation, highlighting the importance of software reliability as modern vehicles increasingly rely on digital displays and infotainment systems.
