Andaz Shanghai ITC opens today in the Xujiahui district, blending contemporary luxury with elements drawn from the city’s past.
As reported by CNA, the hotel is housed in the ITC Xujiahui complex, offering floor-to-ceiling views over a neighbourhood where historic European-style buildings sit alongside modern skyscrapers.
The design reflects Shanghai’s character as a “vertical neighbourhood,” weaving motifs from the city’s sights, sounds, and flavours into rooms, corridors, restaurants, and the rooftop bar.
The third-floor entrance showcases glass-brick walls and moss-hued rugs inspired by century-old laneways, while the 14th-floor check-in lobby captures a sense of historic charm. True to the Andaz brand—Hindi for “personal style”—every detail takes cues from the local surroundings.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel offers 267 rooms and suites. Each room provides views of Shanghai’s blend of heritage buildings and modern skyscrapers and is equipped with Nespresso machines, Simmons luxury mattresses, 55‑inch IPTV, and Byredo Eleventh Hour amenities.
Many rooms feature outdoor terraces, versatile seating areas, and free-standing wardrobes that lead to spa-style bathrooms. Corridors and interiors reference local culture through plane-tree silhouettes and maisonette-style layouts, while custom pieces crafted by Shanghai artisans add authentic touches.
The gym follows the same philosophy, providing a private, boutique-style environment rather than a conventional fitness centre.
Dining and Drinks
The hotel positions itself as a destination for Shanghai’s food-savvy crowd with three distinct venues.
The Rooftop Bar serves tea-infused cocktails alongside fashion-themed décor and panoramic city views. West Wing is a European-Shanghainese deli and wine bar with a vintage feel, focusing on small plates.
East Wing serves breakfast and lunch during the day and transforms into an evening dining venue offering classic Shanghainese dishes. High ceilings, canopy lighting, private dining rooms, and an outdoor terrace create a refined yet approachable atmosphere.
