Traffic heading towards the East Coast built up to an estimated 11km from Gombak to Genting Sempah this morning, according to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), as vehicle volume increased during the Chinese New Year toll discount period.
LLM said northbound traffic was also slow with stop-start flow from Slim River to Tapah.
Southbound lanes recorded congestion of about 4km from Bandar Ainsdale to Seremban.
The heavier movement follows the government’s 50% toll discount in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2026, which began at 12.01am today and runs until 11.59pm.
Motorists are advised to monitor live traffic updates via LLM official social media updates.
