Honda Malaysia has introduced two hybrid variants under its CR-V line-up for the first time, marking a key step in the company’s strategy to expand its electrified vehicle footprint in the domestic market.
The new CR-V is now offered in the e: HEV E and the flagship e: HEV RS, alongside the 1.5L turbocharged V variant. The move represents the first time two hybrid options are made available within a single Honda model range in Malaysia.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Narushi Yazaki said, “The CR-V has long been our flagship model and a key pillar in Honda Malaysia’s success. This year, we are enhancing its appeal further with a new hybrid variant, and this underscores our continued commitment to making Honda’s hybrid more accessible to a broader customer base, while accelerating the growth of our hybrid footprint in the Malaysian market.”
Both hybrid variants are powered by a 2.0L e: HEV powertrain delivering 184PS and 335Nm of torque. The system automatically switches between EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive depending on driving conditions, and includes an Individual Drive Mode for customised driving dynamics.
Across all variants, the CR-V now comes standard with a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system with Google Audio Services integration, Digital Key functionality, Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Monitor. The Digital Key allows owners to lock, unlock and start the vehicle using a mobile device via the Honda CONNECT application.
In terms of pricing, the CR-V e: HEV RS is priced at RM195,900, the turbocharged V at RM181,900 and the e: HEV E at RM178,200, on-the-road without insurance.
The launch underscores Honda Malaysia’s push to broaden hybrid adoption while strengthening technology and safety offerings in the C-SUV segment.
