A new chapter has begun for one of Palm Beach’s historic addresses. Luxury hospitality group Oetker Hotels has opened its first US property with the launch of The Vineta Hotel.
Located just steps from Worth Avenue, the century-old landmark has reopened following a full renovation carried out with investment partner Reuben Brothers, introducing the brand’s signature approach to luxury hospitality to the US.
The transformation covers the hotel’s public spaces as well as its 41 rooms and suites. Interior designer Tino Zervudachi led the project through his studio ZRM, working alongside architects Spina O’Rourke & Partners. The design blends Palm Beach’s Mediterranean Revival architecture with European influences.
Dining plays a central role in the hotel’s relaunch. The restaurant, Coco’s, serves classic dishes inspired by its sister property, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. For something more casual, the poolside bistro offers Giovanni’s signature pizzas alongside seafood dishes such as tuna tartare tacos and seabream ceviche, plus Mediterranean snacks and familiar favourites like lobster rolls.
Outside, the mosaic-tiled swimming pool acts as the centrepiece. It features a shell-shaped ladder inspired by Palm Beach architecture. Guests can also participate in morning yoga, arrange personal training sessions or use in-room fitness equipment. Beach setups are available nearby for those heading to the ocean.
The reopening also brings back the property’s original name. The hotel first opened in 1926 as the Lido-Venice during Palm Beach’s real estate boom and was soon renamed The Vineta. It later operated as The Chesterfield from 1989 until 2022. The latest renovation restores the Vineta identity while updating the property for a new era of visitors.
