Major Road Closures In KL City Centre For Night Run

Several major roads in central Kuala Lumpur will be closed and diverted on the night of March 7 in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Night Run 2026, with traffic disruptions expected from 10pm until about 1am.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said nine key roads around the city centre will be affected as the event takes place at Padang Merbok.

The roads involved include Jalan Berjasa, Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Bulatan Dato’ Onn, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Putra, Jalan Tun Ismail, Jalan Dato’ Onn, Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar (Mahameru) and Jalan Parlimen.

“Road closures and diversions will begin from 10pm and will be reopened in stages from around 1am,” he said.

The run, organised by Kelab Kita Pelari Malaysia, is expected to attract participants from various segments of the public.

Two race categories will be held — a 10km run starting at 11pm and a 5km run beginning at 11.15pm.

Police said the temporary closures are necessary to ensure the safety of participants and smooth traffic flow during the event, and advised motorists to plan their journeys early, use alternative routes and follow instructions from traffic personnel.
