MCash has joined Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) as a direct participant, enabling DuitNow QR payments and DuitNow transfers for users nationwide as part of efforts to expand interoperability within Malaysia’s digital payment ecosystem.
The move allows MCash users to access Malaysia’s unified QR payment standard, enabling payments at millions of merchant touchpoints that accept DuitNow QR rather than being limited to merchants within the MCash network.
The integration also supports DuitNow Transfer, allowing instant peer-to-peer and business fund transfers using mobile numbers or bank account details.
“DuitNow QR has become a cornerstone of Malaysia’s digital payment landscape. As the digital economy matures, interoperability is no longer optional, but it is fundamental,” said Chief Executive Officer Tee Kean Kang.
Tee added, “By becoming a direct participant in PayNet, we are strengthening our ability to deliver secure, real-time payment and transfer services nationwide. More importantly, this positions MCash as a fully connected player within Malaysia’s national payments framework, reinforcing trust, convenience, and financial inclusion.”
The integration is also expected to support Malaysia’s broader digital economy agenda as the country prepares for major initiatives, including Visit Malaysia 2026, where seamless and interoperable payment systems are seen as important for both local users and international visitors.
