Malaysia, China Deepen Security Ties Amid Global Uncertainty

Malaysia and China have agreed to strengthen security cooperation and diplomatic ties as both countries face rising global uncertainties.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter was discussed during a courtesy call by China’s Minister of State Security, Chen Yixin, who is on his first official visit to Malaysia this year.

The discussions centred on bilateral relations, particularly in security collaboration, as well as the evolving geopolitical landscape requiring closer coordination to ensure regional stability.

Anwar said both nations are committed to safeguarding their social and economic prosperity while enhancing cooperation across key sectors.

He added that the visit by a senior Chinese leader reflects the strong Malaysia-China partnership, in line with the government’s priorities.
