Embattled Main Market-listed NexG Berhad has announced the resignation of two members of its board, as the group continues to navigate a challenging period.
The company said independent non-executive director Dato Sri Muthanna Abdullah has stepped down with immediate effect to pursue other interests.
Dato Sri Muthanna brings over four decades of experience in corporate law, board governance, cross-border transactions and strategic advisory. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles in prominent Malaysian law firms and currently serves on the boards of several public-listed and regional entities. His experience also includes extensive exposure to regulatory frameworks under Bank Negara Malaysia and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Separately, non-independent director Mohamad Najib Ishak has also tendered his resignation to pursue other interests.
Mohamad Najib is the son of the company’s chairman, Dato’ Haji Ishak bin Ismail, and is deemed interested in 711.7 million ordinary shares in NexG via his father’s stake in Raya Aviation Holdings Sdn Bhd.
The twin resignations come amid heightened scrutiny on NexG, although the company did not disclose further details on the reasons behind the departures beyond personal pursuits.
