Sunview Group Bhd’s consortium has clinched a RM1.96 billion contract from TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB Genco) to develop a large-scale floating solar project at Tasik Kenyir in Terengganu.
The group said its 40%-owned unit, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, alongside Cypark Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd, received the letter of acceptance for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a 595MWac floating solar photovoltaic plant, integrated with a battery energy storage system.
The project will be undertaken via Consortium Cre-Sunview, an unincorporated joint venture led by Cypark (60%) and Sunview (40%). TNB Genco is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
Construction is slated to begin on June 2, 2026, with completion targeted by Sept 29, 2028.
Sunview said the contract is expected to boost the group’s earnings visibility over the medium term, reinforcing its position in utility-scale solar and hybrid energy solutions.
“However, the contract will not impact its share capital or major shareholdings but is poised to contribute positively to group earnings upon execution,” it added.
