Thunderstorms To Lash Parts Of Klang Valley, Northern States Until 2pm

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are set to hit several areas across the northern region and the Klang Valley until 2pm on April 6.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said affected areas include Kedah — particularly Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu — as well as Penang, Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat) and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.

MetMalaysia said the alert is issued when there are clear signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour, either imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.

It added that such warnings are short-term in nature and remain valid for no longer than six hours for each issuance.
