Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, is expanding its regional network with new direct links to Belitung and Pontianak in Indonesia, alongside a wider increase in flight frequencies across its network from 2026. The move adds more capacity through Singapore Changi Airport as demand for regional travel continues to build.
Belitung joins the network from May 3, 2026, with twice-weekly flights operated by the Embraer E190-E2. Pontianak follows on June 29, 2026, with three weekly services.
Both routes are positioned as short-haul additions that improve access into western and central Indonesia via Singapore, which remains the connecting hub for Scoot’s wider network.
Belitung, off the east coast of Sumatra, is known for its coastal scenery, granite rock formations and biodiversity, including the endemic Belitung Tarsier. Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan, sits on the equator and is home to the Equator Monument. The city also runs along the Kapuas River and has a strong reputation for local food culture.
For Malaysia-based travellers, both destinations will be accessible via Singapore Changi Airport. One-way fares start from MYR219 to Belitung and MYR309 to Pontianak, including taxes, with bookings available through Scoot’s website and mobile app. With these additions, Scoot’s network will expand to 85 destinations across 18 countries and territories.
Alongside the new routes, the airline is increasing frequencies on a range of services between April and June 2026. Services to Phuket will rise from 17 to 21 weekly flights, Sibu will increase to four weekly services, and Okinawa will also move up to four weekly flights from April.
From June, several routes will see further expansion. Bali and Jakarta will increase to 35 weekly flights each, and Lombok will rise to 10 weekly services. As for Manado, it will move to daily operations, while Labuan Bajo will increase to three weekly flights. Changsha and Vienna will also see modest increases in frequency.
Scoot says the changes are aimed at supporting higher travel demand, particularly during peak school holiday periods, while strengthening connectivity across its wider network in Singapore. All services are subject to regulatory approval, with full schedules available via the airline’s official channels.
