Leform Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nippon Steel Trading Corporation and its Malaysian unit NST Trading Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NSTM) to establish a structured framework for closer business collaboration and long-term growth.
The MoU sets out a cooperation framework between the parties to enhance coordination across commercial and operational activities, with the aim of identifying joint opportunities and strengthening business development in the steel sector.
Leform, a steel pipes and flat steel products manufacturer, said the agreement is intended to improve operational efficiency and expand market opportunities by leveraging Nippon Steel Trading’s global network, technical expertise and diversified capabilities.
The collaboration builds on earlier strategic engagement, including NSTM’s participation in Leform’s private placement, which the group said reflects continued investor confidence in its long-term growth strategy.
Leform Managing Director Law Kok Thye said the partnership will strengthen the group’s strategic positioning and support future expansion.
“This collaboration represents a meaningful step forward for Leform, enhancing our ability to capture new growth opportunities and drive operational excellence,” he said.
The group added that the MoU provides a non-binding framework for future cooperation, with further updates to be announced as concrete initiatives are developed.
