Mother’s Day dining in Kuala Lumpur is getting a structured upgrade this year, with Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur rolling out a full line-up of menus across its restaurants. Instead of a single set experience, families can choose from buffets, tasting menus, afternoon tea, or takeaway treats depending on how they want to mark the occasion.
At the centre of it all is Lemon Garden, which leans into a relaxed, garden-style setting overlooking a koi pond. On May 10, 2026, it runs a buffet with live cooking stations led by Executive Chef Eric Fettke.
Expect a mix of comfort and premium touches, from burrata with seasonal pairings and lobster eggs Benedict to smoked salmon crêpes made to order. Desserts include rose crème brûlée and handmade truffles. Pricing is RM198 nett for lunch and RM258 nett for dinner.
For something more structured, Shang Palace is offering an eight-course Cantonese set menu from May 1 to 10. It opens with double-boiled soup and Peking duck, followed by dishes such as golden cereal butter prawns, stir-fried cod with bell peppers, scallops with Chinese yams, and duck truffle noodles. The meal ends on lighter notes with mandarin pomelo sorbet and desserts like rose-infused chocolate mousse. It is priced at RM250 nett per person, with a minimum of four diners.
Japanese fine dining takes the spotlight at Zipangu on May 10, where Head Chef Kazuo Takizawa is serving a seasonal tasting menu. The progression moves from edamame tofu with seafood and sashimi selections to sea urchin sushi and grilled Australian wagyu beef with miso eggplant. A Sakura shrimp rice course and a strawberry mousse cake round it off. The menu is RM360 nett per person.
Over at Arthur’s Bar & Grill, the approach is more contemporary and Western-led. The four-course lunch menu includes starters like Southern spice crab cake and heirloom pumpkin velouté, followed by mains such as beef Wellington, dry-aged Norwegian salmon, or chicken ballotine. Dessert comes in the form of a chocolate sphere and a praline tribute to mothers. It is priced at RM198 nett per person.
Lobby Lounge is taking a more familiar route with heritage-inspired dishes available from May 1 to 10. The dinner set includes ahi tuna tataki, soto ayam, and mains such as chicken roulade or beef tenderloin with rendang-style reduction.
It is priced at RM148 nett per person. Running alongside this is a Parents’ Afternoon Tea from May 1 to June 30, featuring savoury bites like salmon and leek quiche plus sweets such as Earl Grey mango cakes and scones with classic accompaniments.
For those not dining in, Lemon Garden 2 Go is offering a Mother’s Day collection from May 1 to 10. The range includes praline gift boxes, a “Best Mom” chocolate tablet, and a rose raspberry lychee mousse cake, with prices starting from RM78 nett.
Across the board, the hotel is positioning Mother’s Day as less of a single meal and more of a choose-your-own experience, depending on whether families want something formal, casual, or takeaway-focused.
