PROLINTAS Infra Business Trust has announced the appointment of Dato’ Idris bin Kechot as its new Non-Executive Chairman, effective April 30, 2026.
The trust said Dato’ Idris, 71, will assume the role in a non-independent and non-executive capacity, bringing with him extensive experience in investment management, unit trust operations and corporate leadership.
Dato’ Idris holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom, a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Diploma in Agriculture from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
He has held senior leadership positions at Permodalan Nasional Berhad, including Executive Vice-President of Unit Trust, Head and Executive Director of Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad, as well as Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer for Asset Management.
Throughout his career, he has served on the boards of several major corporations, including Malayan Banking Berhad and Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad. He currently sits on the boards of SD Guthrie Berhad and Kumpulan Fima Berhad, and also chairs Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd.
PROLINTAS said Dato’ Idris brings a strong track record in delivering strategic growth, operational efficiency and financial performance across multiple sectors, which is expected to strengthen the trust’s governance and long-term strategic direction.
