Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia has introduced a new online service enabling taxpayers to submit appeals and manage matters related to withholding tax more efficiently through its MyTax portal.
The e-Rayuan Pungutan Cukai Pegangan (withholding tax collection appeal) service allows users to file appeals, applications and enquiries digitally, replacing the previous manual process conducted via customer feedback forms.
Taxpayers can access the service by logging into the MyTax portal and navigating to the e-Rayuan section under the ezHasil services menu. A user manual is also available within the platform to guide applicants through the process.
According to HASiL, the initiative is designed to streamline tax-related procedures, offering faster and more convenient submission of requests. The service covers a wide range of functions, including payment adjustments, penalty waivers, exemptions, refunds and general enquiries related to withholding tax.
Users can also track the status of their applications at any time, improving transparency and overall user experience.
In terms of access, individual taxpayers may submit appeals and enquiries directly, while company directors can do so under their designated role or appoint authorised representatives to act on their behalf.
