Perak Eyes Regional AI Hub With Proposed RM1 Billion Digital Park

Perak is set to strengthen its ambitions in the regional digital economy following a strategic partnership between Cahya Suria Services and Suzhou EnnoTHING Technology to develop the proposed NexQuantum AI Digital Park in Ipoh.

The collaboration, formalised through NexQuantum 1 Sdn Bhd, will focus on building AI-ready digital infrastructure aimed at supporting Malaysia’s growing demand for cloud services, advanced computing and cybersecurity capabilities.

Under the masterplan, the development is expected to include eight proposed data centre facilities, with the first phase known as NQ1 planned as a 32MW Tier III AI-ready data centre equipped with liquid cooling technology. The project carries an estimated investment value of RM1 billion.

The proposed facility is intended to support artificial intelligence computing, high-performance computing, enterprise digital applications and secure data infrastructure as demand for digital services across ASEAN continues to grow.

The partnership combines local project execution capabilities with international technology expertise linked to the broader Foxconn Ennoconn ecosystem, which specialises in smart manufacturing, industrial internet systems, automation and cloud technologies.

The project is also aligned with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 development agenda, which aims to attract higher-quality investments, strengthen digital infrastructure and create skilled employment opportunities in the state.

Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad attended the partnership ceremony alongside representatives from the state’s development ecosystem, technology partners and investors.

The development remains subject to planning approvals, technical requirements and regulatory clearances.
