Coach And Brain Dead Are Making Fashion Fun Again

Coach turned New York’s Meatpacking District into an amusement park to launch its latest collaboration with Brain Dead — and it worked. Instead of a standard runway show, guests walked into carnival games, cotton candy stands, and surprise catwalk moments unfolding in the middle of the crowd.

With names like Troye Sivan and Lourdes Leon in attendance, the event felt more like a downtown street party than a fashion presentation.

The collection pulls together Tokyo streetwear, vintage Americana and souvenir-shop nostalgia without feeling overworked. There are gingham dresses, graphic tees and skater-style shorts, all designed with a slightly chaotic mix-and-match energy that feels very in line with Brain Dead’s aesthetic. Nothing looks too polished, which is exactly the point.

The biggest talking point is Coach’s Coach Tabby Bag, reworked with patches, chunky chains and even a lunchbox-inspired version. Personalisation is a major part of the drop, too.

Mascot charms, pins and collectable add-ons are designed to be layered onto bags and clothing, tapping into fashion’s current obsession with making pieces feel personal rather than perfectly styled.

London shoppers will get first access through a two-week preview at Selfridges before the collection launches globally on May 29.
