The Human Resources Ministry will roll out a new national initiative called Progressive Acceleration for Capability and Employability (PACE), with RM100 million allocated to strengthen human capital and improve job prospects for Malaysians.
The programme will be implemented through the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp). Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said PACE is part of wider government efforts to make sure workers have skills that match both current and future industry needs, while also improving Malaysia’s competitiveness globally.
He stated the initiative focuses on practical outcomes — from talent development and skills training to workforce transformation and expanding access to economic opportunities for different groups across society.
PACE will include 10 programmes covering areas such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), youth skills development, digital economy growth, support for local businesses, regional development, and improving opportunities for gig workers and inclusive communities.
The ministry says the approach will focus on targeted investment, with each programme expected to deliver measurable results for both workers and the wider economy. It is designed to build a workforce that is more productive and better prepared for changes in the job market, especially as technology and innovation reshape industries.
Datuk Ramanan said the initiative is backed by Prime Minister Datuk Anwar Ibrahim and aligns with the MADANI government’s push to improve living standards through better-quality jobs and stronger human development.
He added that human capital development remains central to Malaysia’s goal of becoming a competitive, sustainable high-income nation. The ministry is confident PACE will help drive workforce transformation and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for skills and talent.
