Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected this evening in several areas, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The weather warning, issued at 5:45 pm on August 1, is expected to remain in effect until 9 pm.
In Selangor, affected areas include Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat, while in Negri Sembilan, the warning covers Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin.
Other states affected include parts of Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Johor, as well as selected areas in Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
MetMalaysia advised the public to remain alert as thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds may occur during the warning period.
