Bursa Ends Lower As KLCI Falls 0.72%

Bursa Malaysia closed lower today as selling pressure dragged key indices into negative territory.

The KLCI fell 12.51 points, or 0.72%, to close at 1,727.71.

The FBM70 declined 127.50 points, or 0.69%, to 18,377.51, while the FBMEMAS slipped 90.10 points, or 0.70%, to 12,804.77.

Meanwhile, the FBMSHA eased 73.78 points, or 0.58%, to 12,749.07, and the F4GBM dropped 6.96 points, or 0.67%, to 1,034.94.

Oppstar Leads Gainers As Tech, Glove Stocks Advance

Oppstar Bhd emerged among Bursa Malaysia’s top gainers today, jumping 14.5 sen to 93 sen with 924.7 million shares traded, making it one of the most actively traded counters on the local bourse.

GIIB Holdings Bhd also gained ground, rising 1.5 sen to 30.5 sen after 592.5 million shares changed hands.

Among other active stocks are Glove maker Top Glove Corp, EG Industries Bhd, and VS Industry Bhd.

The active trading momentum came despite broader market weakness, as investors continued rotating into selected technology and export-oriented counters.
