Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and rain across several states during the Hari Raya Haji period from May 27 to May 28.
For May 27, northern states including Kedah and Perlis are expected to experience thunderstorms in the morning and evening, while Penang is forecast to see morning thunderstorms.
Perak is expected to experience thunderstorms in the morning and evening followed by rain at night.
Evening thunderstorms are also forecast over Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Kelantan, while Pahang and Terengganu are expected to experience thunderstorms in the evening followed by rain at night.
In Sabah, thunderstorms are forecast in the morning over Pedalaman, Pantai Barat and Kudat before continuing into the evening with rain expected at night.
Labuan is also expected to experience thunderstorms in the morning and evening followed by night rain.
Meanwhile, Sarawak is forecast to experience morning thunderstorms in Sri Aman, Betong, Bintulu and Kapit, while evening thunderstorms are expected in Mukah, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri before rain continues into the night in several areas.
For May 28, Perlis is again expected to experience thunderstorms in the morning and evening, while Kedah is forecast to see evening thunderstorms.
Perak is expected to experience rain at night, while Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Kelantan are forecast to experience evening thunderstorms.
Pahang and Terengganu are also expected to experience evening thunderstorms followed by rain at night.
In Sabah, thunderstorms are forecast in the morning over Pedalaman, Pantai Barat, Kudat and Sandakan before continuing into the evening with rain expected at night.
Meanwhile, Sarawak is forecast to experience widespread thunderstorms from morning until evening before rain continues into the night in several divisions.
