These New Soundcore Earbuds Aim To Fix Your Worst Call Headaches

soundcore has launched its new Liberty 5 Pro Series in Malaysia, introducing two flagship true wireless earbuds aimed at users who want clearer calls, smarter noise control and more consistent sound across daily use. The line-up includes the Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max, designed for work, commuting and entertainment rather than just music playback.

The launch comes from Anker Innovations’ audio brand soundcore, which is pushing harder into AI-powered audio. The focus this time is on how the earbuds handle real-world situations like noisy streets, hybrid work calls and travel.

At the centre of the series is Anker’s new Thus™ AI Chip. It’s built to handle audio processing directly on the earbuds, with the company claiming a major jump in on-device computing power compared to previous models. The idea is simple: faster processing, lower energy use, and less reliance on cloud connectivity for features like noise control and voice enhancement.

Call quality stands out as one of the biggest selling points. The earbuds use upgraded voice pickup and AI noise reduction to keep voices clear, even in busy environments like public transport or cafés.

The Liberty 5 Pro Series has also undergone independent testing under international speech quality standards and earned recognition from Guinness World Records in 2026 for achieving the highest speech quality score for TWS earbuds in objective testing.

Noise cancellation also sees an upgrade. An eight-microphone system works with real-time processing to adapt to different environments as you move through them. Instead of simply blocking out all sound, it balances background noise reduction with a more natural sense of awareness, which helps during longer listening sessions.

Voice control has been moved on-device as well, meaning commands don’t need a constant internet connection. That makes basic actions like adjusting volume, switching tracks or answering calls quicker and more reliable, especially when you’re on the move or multitasking.

The Liberty 5 Pro Max adds more productivity-focused features. It includes an AI Note Taker that can record, transcribe and summarise conversations in real time, such as meetings or lectures. Notes can then sync across devices through the soundcore app, covering iOS, Android, Mac and PC.

The Max model also introduces a 1.78-inch AMOLED touchscreen built into the charging case. It gives quick access to controls that include noise cancellation control, voice recording and earbud customisation without needing to open a phone, all to help reduce small daily friction points.

On the audio side, soundcore utilises multiple AI models to adjust sound output dynamically. Instead of fixed tuning, the earbuds adapt bass, vocals and detail depending on what you’re listening to, whether that’s music, films, gaming or calls.

Pricing in Malaysia is RM699 for the Liberty 5 Pro and RM899 for the Liberty 5 Pro Max. Both models are available at Anker Innovations’ boutique store in IOI City Mall, which is designed as an experience-led space where customers can try the products before buying.

The launch was also supported by an “Anker Day” showcase event, where visitors could test features like call clarity, noise cancellation and AI tools in real-world simulations rather than just specs on paper.
