CCK Unit Hit By Fire Incident At Indonesian Facility

CCK Consolidated Holdings Berhad said a fire broke out at the manufacturing facility of its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Adilmart, in Tangerang, Banten, early Wednesday morning.

The group said the incident occurred at about 3am local time on May 28 at the facility in Cikupa, Tangerang, which is operated by PT Adilmart, a 60 per cent-owned subsidiary of CCK.

The company said local fire and rescue authorities responded to the incident and successfully contained the blaze at around 11.30am.

CCK said no fatalities or injuries have been reported thus far.

“The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities,” the company said, adding that the extent of the damage is also being assessed together with its insurers.

Operations at the affected facility have been temporarily suspended pending safety inspections, assessment works and clean-up activities.

The Sarawak-based integrated poultry and food products group said it is currently unable to determine the financial impact arising from the incident until further assessments are completed.

CCK added that it is reviewing insurance coverage and related claims tied to the fire incident and will make further announcements if there are any material developments.

PT Adilmart operates in Indonesia’s food manufacturing sector and forms part of CCK’s regional expansion strategy outside Malaysia.
