Political movement BERSAMA, led by former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, has confirmed it will contest the 2026 Johor state election, marking its first electoral test less than a month after its relaunch.
Rafizi said the decision was finalised following discussions with the party leadership and selected members nationwide, with further talks underway to determine the state seats it will contest in Johor.
“The Johor polls provide an opportunity to introduce the fledgling movement to voters while allowing us to build and assess its election machinery ahead of future contests,” he added.
The former PKR leader highlighted as part of its campaign preparations, BERSAMA will kick off its nationwide “Jelajah Kancil” roadshow in Johor on June 6 at the Danga Bay Convention Centre, focusing on the party’s 12 key policy agendas and will continue across several states through July.
A confident Rafizi then said the party can mobilise ordinary Malaysians to mount a positive, innovative and future-focused campaign in Johor, positioning the state election as a crucial platform to gauge public support for its reform agenda.
