Cycle & Carriage has begun distribution operations for electric vehicle brand Leapmotor in Malaysia, strengthening its position in the country’s fast-growing electric mobility market.
The move builds on the company’s partnership with Stellantis Malaysia since 2024 and marks another step in Cycle & Carriage’s expansion as a multi-brand automotive retailer.
The company said the appointment comes as Malaysia’s electric vehicle market continues to gain momentum, driven by rising consumer adoption, improving charging infrastructure and growing interest in technology-focused mobility solutions.
Under the arrangement, Cycle & Carriage will work closely with Leapmotor’s dealer network to expand the brand’s presence, improve customer experience and strengthen aftersales capabilities nationwide.
Chief Executive Officer Adrian Short said Malaysia is entering a new phase of electric vehicle adoption as consumers increasingly seek vehicles that combine innovation with practicality.
He added that the company sees strong potential in positioning Leapmotor as an accessible premium EV brand supported by comprehensive retail and aftersales services.
Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN Isaac Yeo said the appointment reflects the long-standing partnership between the two companies and is expected to support Leapmotor’s next phase of growth in Malaysia.
Over the past year, Cycle & Carriage has expanded Leapmotor’s retail footprint with locations in George Town, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, alongside the opening of the brand’s flagship 3S centre in Glenmarie.
Leapmotor currently operates 12 sales outlets and eight service centres nationwide, with additional locations planned before the end of the year.
