Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Johor and Sarawak until 6pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The affected areas in Perak are Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta and Perak Tengah.
In Pahang, the warning covers Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin, while in Selangor it involves Hulu Selangor and Gombak.
Johor’s Mersing and Kota Tinggi districts are also expected to experience adverse weather conditions.
In Sarawak, the warning covers parts of Kuching, Serian, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Kapit.
MetMalaysia said the warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour that are imminent or expected to last for more than an hour.
