GIIB Responds To Bursa UMA Query, Points To Ongoing Healthcare Investment Discussions

GIIB Holdings Berhad says it is unaware of any unannounced corporate developments or market rumors that could explain the recent sharp spike in its stock price and trading volume.

The statement came in a rapid response to an Unusual Market Activity (UMA) query issued by Bursa on June 4, 2026, following heightened retail and institutional trading momentum in the counter.

While GIIB’s management maintained that it has kept the market fully informed of its day-to-day operations, the group highlighted its ongoing pursuit of a strategic footprint expansion in the medical sector.

GIIB pointed back to its previous UMA response dated May 4, 2026, which initially disclosed a proposed investment into a healthcare-related business. The company clarified that this corporate maneuver remains an active work-in-progress:

It said the discussions are actively ongoing, but the exact details, valuation, and legal terms of the potential investment have not yet been finalised. The board pledged to issue immediate regulatory disclosures under the Main Market Listing Requirements as soon as a definitive agreement is reached or a material breakthrough occurs.
