Bottega Veneta has launched Alta, a new fragrance collection that moves the brand’s scent offering into a broader, more concept-led direction. The range includes ten eaux de parfum and is positioned as an extension of the house’s ongoing exploration of Italy, this time framed through international influence rather than a single national narrative.
The guiding idea behind Alta is the “Intrecciato duo”, a reference to Bottega Veneta’s signature weave. Each fragrance is built around a pairing of ingredients — one drawn from Italy and one from elsewhere in the world. The structure intends to create contrast and interaction, with each scent built as a combination of two distinct references rather than a single dominant note.
That idea of contrast carries through the collection. Lighter elements such as citrus, herbs and fresh aromatic notes are set against heavier foundations of woods, resins and warm, textured accords.
The collection also expands what “Italian” scent references can include. Alongside familiar Mediterranean influences, Alta introduces more unexpected accords, including a stracciatella-inspired note that blends milky vanilla with chocolate. The approach draws on food and everyday sensory experiences, widening the usual boundaries of perfumery.
Taken as a whole, the ten fragrances work as a coordinated set rather than standalone products. The “Alta” collection is currently available on the brand’s website and retails for US$235 for 50 ml and US$300 for 100 ml.
