DXN To Build RM140 Million Nutraceutical Plant In Kedah

DXN Holdings Bhd is investing RM140 million to build Malaysia’s largest nutraceutical manufacturing facility in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, strengthening its production capacity as the wellness group accelerates global expansion.

The new facility, which broke ground on June 7, will become DXN’s largest manufacturing complex worldwide and serve as the cornerstone of its global production network.

Construction is being carried out on a 26.6-acre site leased from Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah, with production scheduled to begin in March 2028.

Phase one of the project will comprise about 300,000 sq ft of built-up space, including seven production blocks, 10 warehouses and a dedicated research and development centre.

The facility is expected to initially produce 118 stock-keeping units across coffee, food and beverage, and juice categories, with future expansion planned into cosmetics, personal care and pharmaceutical products.

DXN said the investment is aimed at supporting rising demand across its international markets after several years of sustained revenue and earnings growth.

The facility is designed to increase manufacturing capacity, improve operational efficiency and strengthen supply chain resilience through greater automation and integrated logistics capabilities.

Executive Chairman and Founder Datuk Lim Siow Jin said DXN’s revenue has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 15.4% over the past three years, with FY2025 delivering record revenue, net profit and EBITDA.

“Bukit Kayu Hitam is our answer to ensure production capacity remains ahead of demand. It is more than a factory; it is a manufacturing, logistics and innovation hub built to support the next decade of growth,” he said.

The project forms a key pillar of DXN’s global manufacturing strategy, which targets 21 factories across four continents by 2028. Together with its existing Jitra operations and a new facility under development in Gua Musang, Kelantan, the Bukit Kayu Hitam complex will anchor DXN’s Malaysian manufacturing ecosystem.
