24 Scholars Receive Financial Aid From KPMG As Higher Education Support

KPMG in Malaysia has awarded 24 students under its Young Star Scholarship Programme, providing one-off financial assistance of RM8,000 to RM10,000 to support higher education.

The recipients, selected in the programme’s third year, are primarily from B40 and underserved communities.

The scholarship forms part of KPMG’s Education Trust Fund, a RM5 million initiative funded by the firm’s partners to disburse RM500,000 annually over 10 years. Since its establishment in 2022, the fund has supported 983 beneficiaries with more than RM1.8 million in total funding.

To date, RM682,000 has been awarded through the Young Star Scholarship Programme to 77 scholars over three years.

KPMG in Malaysia Managing Partner Foong Mun Kong said the initiative reflects the need to prepare students for a rapidly changing environment shaped by artificial intelligence and economic complexity.

He said adaptability and continuous learning will be critical for future graduates.

The programme also includes structured support beyond financial aid, including internship placements, a one-year employment bond upon graduation, mentorship and exposure to leadership and sustainability-related initiatives.
