Lockton Sime has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Nick Lee as chief executive officer and Siva Thangavelu as chief operating officer for Malaysia, marking a key step in the firm’s continued expansion strategy in the country and wider Asia region.
The appointments were announced on 10 June 2026 and are positioned as part of Lockton’s long-term investment in Malaysia, with both executives bringing extensive experience in insurance, financial services and regional business leadership.
Nick Lee takes on the chief executive officer role with a background in strategic leadership, client advisory and business expansion across Asia Pacific, while Siva Thangavelu steps in as chief operating officer with a focus on operations, transformation and governance within financial services and insurance markets.
According to Lockton Asia chief executive officer Tony Hardy, the leadership transition reflects the group’s continued commitment to Malaysia, with the new structure expected to strengthen growth initiatives and operational delivery in the market.
As part of the transition, Mohamed Yahya Ibrahim has stepped back from his role at Lockton Sime to focus on family and personal commitments. The company expressed appreciation for his contributions to the business and the wider insurance industry.
