The Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta is closely monitoring ongoing demonstrations in central Jakarta on 12 June 2026, particularly around Bundaran HI and Patung Arjuna Wiwaha, also known as Patung Kuda.
The embassy said the protests are expected to impact traffic flow in several key areas of central Jakarta including Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, which are among the city’s main transport arteries.
Malaysians travelling to Jakarta for business, tourism or other purposes have been advised to plan their movements carefully, stay updated with announcements from local authorities and avoid protest locations entirely. They have also been reminded not to participate in any activities that violate local laws.
For consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta.
The embassy said it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of Malaysian citizens in Indonesia.
