The Department of Information Malaysia has warned the public to be wary of online job offers that promise easy work and high salaries, saying such schemes are often linked to scams.
The department said fraudsters typically approach victims through social media and messaging applications, offering seemingly attractive jobs with lucrative pay.
It urged job seekers to verify the legitimacy of any employment offer with the relevant authorities before sharing personal information or making any payments.
The department also reminded the public that if an offer appears too good to be true, it is likely a scam and should be treated with caution.
