KL City Gateway Completes Unit Ballot For Kampung Sungai Baru Redevelopment

KL City Gateway Sdn Bhd has completed the unit draw exercise for the redevelopment of Kampung Sungai Baru in Kampung Bharu, Kuala Lumpur, marking a key milestone in the long-running project following the groundbreaking ceremony held on 31 October 2025.

The developer said the ballot process for replacement units was conducted transparently, fairly and in accordance with the joint venture agreement signed between all parties involved, adding that the outcome of the draw is final and binding under the agreed mechanism.

It said the exercise forms part of the structured implementation of the redevelopment plan and reflects continued commitment from stakeholders to ensure governance standards are upheld throughout the process.

“The process of determining the replacement units has been carried out transparently, in a disciplined manner and in accordance with the agreement reached by all parties. The outcome of the draw is final and is implemented based on the mechanism set out in the joint venture agreement,” said KL City Gateway Sdn Bhd director Abdul Hadi Ahmad.

Following the draw, all affected property owners will proceed with documentation processes related to their allocated replacement units, which will serve as official reference until the units are completed.

KL City Gateway Sdn Bhd also expressed appreciation to representatives from Perbadanan Pembangunan Kampung Bharu, legal representatives of both the owners and the developer as well as the residents’ association, who attended as observers to ensure transparency during the exercise.

Separately, Sanita, chairperson of the Kampung Sungai Baru Property Owners Welfare Association, said the exercise represents an important step forward in the redevelopment effort and reflects the cooperation between all parties in advancing the long-awaited project.

KL City Gateway Sdn Bhd reiterated its commitment to delivering the redevelopment in a professional, structured and responsible manner for the benefit of all property owners involved.
